What is an Art Journal?
An art journal is a visual diary where you practice making art while expressing yourself at the same time.
You can make your own, buy them in a shop, or use old books, notebooks, planners, etc.
It’s loved by so many because it offers the freedom of mixing art materials to create unique, non-traditional personal works of art. More importantly, art journaling lets you dive deep into yourself and express your emotions and thoughts in a carefree yet soulful way.
Every imaginable style, media and technique is used in art journals, the possibilities are endless because it's all about experimenting and creating just for yourself. You never have to show or share what you create if you don't want to!
Art Journaling is where I began to learn the practice of completely letting go and allowing my intuition to guide the creative process.
This art form encourages us to take risks & try new things, whether it's drawing something for the first time or trying out new mediums. Its an absolute perfect place to explore Mixed Media
Among other benefits of starting an art journal, you will experience the freedom of artistic expression, with no limitations. Also, you will be able to make art every day if you choose without feeling overwhelmed or pressured.
With all this, it enables you to grow not only as an artist, but also as a person because it gives you a place to nurture your self-confidence.
And finally, it offers a safe space for you to be you and to just be with yourself, your thoughts and your art. I love going to my journal almost everyday and feeling comforted by the colors and words that emerge.
